Commenting on the Government’s review of student visas

Commenting on the Government’s review of student visas,

Baroness Jo Valentine, Chief Executive of London First said:

“London is the most popular city in the world for international students – who contribute £1.5bn to the city’s economy and forge valuable links between the capital and other countries. Whilst it’s clear that there are areas to tighten up, excessive restrictions could damage London’s international reputation and shrink future export opportunities. Government should listen very carefully to the concerns of our academically and economically successful university sector before changing the student immigration system so as not to inadvertently derail the UK’s fragile growth.”
