Wednesday 28 March 8:00AM - 9:30AM

The EU-summit 22-23 March is expected to be the turning point in the negotiations, when talks about the future UK-EU trade relationship will begin.

Taking place immediately after the summit, this event will give attendees an opportunity to understand what the summit means for the next phase in the negotiations, and the UK-EU future trade options.

Future of Retail in London Workshops – Tech and digital transformation

Wednesday 28 March 3:00PM - 5:30PM

The first three workshops in our Future of Retail series have been incredibly informative, throwing up member concerns that the planning system must support ‘doing things’ which make a place, not just building things…frustrations at a lack of ambition or radical vision for retail in London…and a worry that policy is responding to a ‘Victorian’ vision of retail rather than looking ahead to 2030. On a very practical level, they’ve also informed both our draft response to the London Plan and our Skills Commission work.

Topics covered
• What are the major tech and digital transformations which will impact global retail over the coming years? What might be the barriers to take-up of those transformations in London? What will be the knock-on consequences for London if they are taken up? New skills needed? Old jobs automated?
• We’re keen to talk about tech and digital in its widest sense, thinking about the fundamental regulatory structures and infrastructures which underpin the success of transformative tech.
• As well as the discussion, Intel will share live examples of these transformative technologies with a short tour of the Intel Lab.
