Brexit will likely bring an end to EU freedom of movement and this will restrict employers’ and education institutions’ ability to hire and recruit European workers and students. Furthermore, as the government tries to show it is bringing immigration under control, we can expect further restrictions on non-EU migrants, too. This is a great concern for London, which thrives as a result of ease of access to global talent. This session will provide an opportunity to hear from, and influence, the Home Office’s new Head of Migration Policy, on current thinking on what type of immigration system the UK should have.
