Hack The Vote: Youth engagement in the EU Referendum

Despite the forthcoming referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU – arguably the most significant election for a generation – 18 to 24 year olds are still the least likely demographic to be registered to vote.

To try to tackle this, London First have joined forces with the tech community, to find an innovative solution that will get young people voting.

We’re collaborating with Runway East, Hack Europe, Tech London Advocates, Bite the Ballot, and others, to run a Hackathon called Hack the Vote, on 23 and 24 April. The event is aimed at activating people who are interested in campaigning and who have the coding skills to design games, apps and social media campaigns that will reach younger voters and encourage them to register.

If you know people with coding skills who would enjoy coming along, please do pass on the event details. There will be experts on hand to provide advice and guidance. To find our more and sign up for free registration, visit the Hack Europe website.
