LISTEN IN: “Now is our time”, Heathrow CEO tells business

What do fresh Scottish Salmon, motor executives from the North East and Brompton bikes have in common? The answer is Heathrow.

The airport’s chief executive, John Holland-Kaye, explains why a new runway is not about laying concrete, it’s about the future of the UK and whether we want to be one of the world’s leading trading nations.

He also tells business leaders at the event organised by London First and LCCI, why he believes politicians will get behind plans for a third runway at Heathrow.

Also speaking was Phil Graham, who led the civil service team behind the Airports Commission.
Phil reflects on two-and-a-half years of work that recently culminated in the backing of a new runway at Heathrow and what the next steps are.

He also warns businesses of the danger of thinking that a third runway at Heathrow is a “no brainer”.
