London First response to Mayor’s announcement of a promotional campaign for LondonMarch 23, 2009
Business group London First have welcomed the announcement today of a promotion campaign for London to overseas visitors and UK consumers.
London First Chief Executive, Baroness Jo Valentine said:
“Well done to the Mayor for reminding us of the ‘feel good factory’ on our own doorstep.”
“London is a special destination for overseas tourists, with a unique appeal combining heritage and sophistication with glamorous shops and world-famous shows. The current exchange rates make London’s unique experiences surprisingly affordable to Euro and Dollar visitors.
“The campaign will remind UK and even London residents of the many features of an afternoon, a night out or a weekend spent in London. The effect of the exchange rate has been to make short breaks in Barcelona or Prague prohibitively expensive for many. But London can match everything they have to offer.”
