London First response to Network Rail plans for the next five yearsApril 1, 2009
Baroness Jo Valentine, Chief Executive of business group London First said:
“Network Rail’s £29bn settlement must tackle chronic capacity shortages on the capital’s armpit-to-elbow commuter routes. Two thirds of rail journeys begin or end in the capital. Network Rail has promised more trains, more seats and better journeys in its delivery plan for the next five years. London’s growth and future success depend on all three. ”
