The London First Security and Resilience Network galvanises business, security and police services to work together closely, to increase London’s resilience and improve safety from crime for businesses and their employees.
Supported by the Metropolitan Police, City of London Police, British Transport Police and the Home Office, our multidisciplinary network brings together world experts in security, counter-terrorism, resilience, business continuity and policing.
The network is steered by an Advisory Board, chaired by Sir David Veness, former Under Secretary General for Safety & Security at the United Nations. Full Board and Biogs
The network aims to:
- Promote good practice in resilience planning to safeguard London’s global competitiveness
- Encourage innovation through collaboration between a wide range of disciplines
- Improve organisational effectiveness by sharing leadership and management expertise
- Improve communication, acting as a key conduit for information sharing between security and policing services and business
The benefits of network membership include:
- Events – Our programme of around 40 events per year include high level briefings from distinguished international experts, providing network members with profile and networking opportunities with security practitioners
- Guidance – With network members’ input, we develop guidance booklets and run practical training workshops
- Police message alerts – In the event of major incidents, and where possible, network members receive police security alerts, cascaded by London First
- Newsletters – Quarterly e-newsletters provide updates from the network and its partners
- Leadership development – Opportunities to take part in our Leadership Exchange joint mentoring programme and leadership lecture series. Find out more
