One year on from the Airports Commission: will a new runway ever get built?

Marking the one year anniversary of the Airports Commission publishing its final report, our briefing is part of a range of activities, led by the business community, designed to encourage the government to deliver a final decision on where to build a new runway in London and the South East by the summer.

The breakfast briefing, on Thursday 30 June 2016, will feature speakers including:

  • Lord Adonis, Chair of the National Infrastructure Commission
  • Frances O’Grady, General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC)
  • John Allan CBE, Chairman, London First
  • Mike Cherry, National Chairman, Federation of Small Businesses

The key message is that any further delay to implementing the Airports Commission’s recommendation to build a new runway will harm the UK’s economic competitiveness and our global aviation hub status.
