Putting London firmly on the MIPIM map

London First delivered its largest programme of exclusive roundtable discussions, private dinners and networking events at this year’s MIPIM – the world’s leading real estate conference.

John Allan, London First chair, led our activity, which focused on cementing relationships with key figures across the public policy community and connecting our members.

We met with Gavin Barwell MP, Minister of State for Housing and Planning where we re-enforced the importance of CrossRail2 and London’s role in a post-Brexit economy. We also welcomed Deputy Mayors Jules Pipe and James Murray to our opening reception co-hosted by JLL and the main London Lunch co-hosted by CBRE.

James Murray was also our guest at the Winckworth Sherwood/Terence O’Rourke housing roundtable plus one of two place-making events at the Department for International Trade pavilion alongside Jean-Louis Missika, Deputy Mayor of Paris.

Fiona Fletcher-Smith, Executive Director – Development, Enterprise & Environment at the GLA, spoke at a roundtable dinner exploring place-making in greater detail, co-hosted by Gensler and British Land.

This year, we also organised two new infrastructure events;  a gala dinner exploring development opportunities within infrastructure projects sponsored by PwC and a brunch roundtable looking at transport corridors in West London sponsored by WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Finally, in addition to the Partners who hosted or supported this year’s programme, London First would like to thank over 450 members and key stakeholders who attended events.

We are already looking ahead to MIPIM 2018. If you would like to be kept informed about sponsorship and hosting opportunities, please contact Sean Fleetwood.
