Who has contributed towards making London the best city in the world during 2014?

The London First awards will be a chance to nominate your top projects, developments, organisations and individuals who have added to London’s vibrancy during the last year.

The categories open to nomination are:

  • Champion for London, sponsored by Thames Tideway Tunnel, for anyone who has gone beyond what might be expected of them to champion London.
  • Improvement to Londoners’ Quality of Life, sponsored by UK Power Networks, for a regeneration, development or cultural heritage project, better facilities and services, or simply something that makes you smile.
  • Investment in London’s Future, sponsored by Grosvenor, for a visionary initiative which reinforces London’s competitiveness in the long term.

If you would like to nominate to one of the categories please click here.

We also need suggestions for our award that is voted for by the public: the ‘Contribution to London’s Cultural Excellence’.

This award ‘celebrates the individual or group that has made the greatest contribution to making London a world cultural capital’.

A shortlist will be drawn up by London First, in conjunction with our sponsor Radisson Blue Edwardian, and our media partner CityMetric, a new city-focused news site from the New Statesman.

The public will then vote for it via the CityMetric website.

We are very pleased to have teamed up with CityMetric. More than half the world’s population now live in a city. By the middle of the century, it’ll be 70%. CityMetric exists to explore all the topics affecting that growing slice of humanity. The site brings you all the news, features and analysis from the team behind the New Statesman. The awards dinner will take place on the historic Cutty Sark in Greenwich on Tuesday 13 January 2015.
