Formed in 2012, London Legacy Development Corporation is a regeneration agency and local planning authority. Its purpose is to use the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of the London 2012 Games and the creation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to develop a dynamic new heart for east London, creating opportunities for local people and driving innovation and growth in London and the UK.
Since 2012, the Park has become a must-visit destination for east London; attracting six million visits a year, world class sport and entertainment events, thousands of new homes and jobs across the wider area and two new business districts.
In the coming years, LLDC will continue to support the delivery of new homes and jobs – both on the Park and in the wider Mayoral Development Corporation area –while delivering major new projects like East Bank, a world-leading cultural and education district, and SHIFT, the UK’s first inclusive innovation district.
