London needs to build 65,000 homes a year and nearly half need to affordable. In the desire to meet the demand for affordable housing, how can we ensure that we build quality homes and create sustainable communities? James Murray, Deputy Mayor for Housing and our panel of experts will cover some of challenges facing architects, developers, housing associations, and planners in ensuring that we build homes and communities that don’t just address the problems we are facing now, but will leave a lasting legacy. This will include issues such as how we build affordable homes at density, building tenure blind, and ensuring long term on-going affordability for both the resident and the landlord.
