Modern methods of construction, or MMC, represent a real opportunity to help alleviate some of the challenges we face in the current housing crisis. MMC can supplement our traditional methods of housebuilding with faster and more efficient build out rates and, as seen most recently, continued construction in challenging times. However, it is not a panacea; projects can encounter barriers in the planning process, such as criticism over design quality and repetitive elevations and these barriers need to be addressed if MMC is really to embed itself as part of the solution.
Join us for a roundtable discussion to explore the planning and design issues arising from MMC and how the planning system can better support this growing sector.
