A webinar with Heidi Alexander, Deputy Mayor for Transport and Will Norman, Walking and Cycling Commissioner
As London begins to reopen and recover from Covid-19, how we travel around the city will have to change. A poorly managed return to public transport is a critical risk for our capital and Government, City Hall, Transport for London, and businesses will need work in lockstep to ensure demand is reduced and retimed. Transport for London have been quick to create Streetspace to enable more safe, sustainable, and socially distanced travel, including supporting greater experimentation with micro-mobility. How these temporary changes interact with more movement in the capital and how much of it becomes permanent are still to be determined. All of this is set against the most challenging financial situation TfL has ever experienced and taking place in the a mayoral election year.
