London’s skyline is slowly changing but in terms of London’s needs, it can be argued that it hasn’t changed fast enough. We are a city with a finite amount of land that needs to build 65,000 homes a year, as well as providing industrial space and responding to rapid changes in technology. If London is to remain competitive we need to get building, but if we can’t go out, is it time to go up? Are tall buildings essential for cities to continue to grow? And is London ready for its first mile high building?
