London First Workshop for Hospitality, Retail and Leisure Members

Finding it hard to navigate what you can spend your Levy on? Looking for ways to make the most of your unspent levy before Government changes come into play?

Join us for this one-stop-workshop, held jointly with the Greater London Authority and Department for Education, on all you need to know to make the Apprenticeship Levy work for your business.

The story so far

The Apprenticeship Levy was introduced in April 2017 with the aim of putting employers in the driving seat, making Apprenticeships work for their business.

Employers with payroll bills over £3m have 0.5% of the payroll above that figure deducted and placed into a digital account. These funds would then cover the cost of training apprentices that they employ.

Two years on, too many employers are still struggling to use their levy funding effectively. This is a pressing concern because from April this year, Government will start to take unused money from employers and reallocate it in the UK skills system. So, the clock is ticking.

Please join us at this timely members’ workshop for our members, that will set out how Hospitality, Retail and Leisure employers can maximise the benefit of the levy for their business. We will hear from businesses who have cracked the code and are making it work for them. Government officials will talk through all the areas that the levy can be spent on, and many of these may be a surprise to employers.
