Commenting on the move to end testing for fully-vaccinated travellers, Adam Tyndall, Programme Director for Transport at London First, said:
“Ending tests for fully-vaccinated people coming to the UK is a big step forward for everyone that relies on international travel. It will provide a boost not just for the travel industry but for trade and tourism, including our world class hotels, restaurants, theatres and museums. However, with domestic restrictions finishing this week, it is a pity that we have to wait over two weeks for international travel rules to catch up.
“We hope that this is the first in a rapid series of steps to remove other travel hurdles like the cumbersome Passenger Locator Form. It is also vital that Government now provides businesses with a proportionate playbook setting out when and on what basis any future restrictions on international travel would be considered, as we learn to live with this virus.”
