London First bolsters board with two new appointments
London First, the capital’s leading business group, has today confirmed the appointment of Gillian Sheldon and Pamela Thompson to its board with immediate effect.
Gillian is a Senior Advisor of Credit Suisse with 25 years of experience advising boards on a range of challenges including corporate strategy, acquisition support, takeover defence, and all aspects of corporate finance. She has held a variety of roles at Credit Suisse including Vice Chairman of Investment Banking, and Head of Telecoms, Media, and Technology. Gillian is also a member of the Salesforce Europe, Middle East and Africa Advisory Board and a Non-Executive Director of Severn Trent PLC.
Pamela is the former Chair of Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP, having held a variety of roles in the firm including London Senior Office Partner and Head of Financial Institutions. A highly-regarded financial services lawyer with more than 35 years’ experience she was influential in developing a new tax-transparent UK fund structure which has helped maintain the competitiveness of the £12bn UK investment fund industry. Eversheds Sutherland won the ‘Navigating and Influencing Regulation’ award for Pamela’s work.
Gillian and Pamela join newly appointed board members Anita Balchandani, Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and Lesley-Ann Nash, former Cabinet Officer Director and other Board members in supporting London First to deliver its mission to make the capital the best place in the world to do business.
