Commenting on the House of Commons vote to hold a General Election on December 12, Jasmine Whitbread, Chief Executive of business group London First, said:
“Businesses have been frustrated by the deadlock in Parliament and it is clear that something had to give. However, an election risks failing to answer the central Brexit question, given the public will, rightly, vote on a range of domestic issues.
“It is vital for business confidence that the next government works overtime to ensure we have the closest possible future relationship with the EU, and underpins economic growth with a strong domestic agenda that invests in critical infrastructure projects, boosts housing, and allows the UK to attract global talent.”
