London First, the business lobby organisation that works to make London the best city in the world to live, work, and play, has today strengthened the organisation’s leadership team as it focuses on the capital’s return to growth.
Following the appointment of John Dickie as CEO in May 2021, Muniya Barua has been confirmed as Director of Strategy and Policy, following a period as interim. Muniya previously spent three years as the organisation’s Director of Corporate Affairs. Prior to London First, she was MD of Corporate Affairs at Newington Communications – now part of SEC Newgate — and Director of Corporate Communications at the CBI.
Laura Osborne has joined the leadership team as Corporate Affairs Director, having been promoted from her previous role as Director of Strategic Communications and Campaigns. Laura joined London First after advising broadband challenger CityFibre during its expansion into the consumer broadband market, and prior to that she was Communications Director at Which?
The new appointments complete a revamped leadership team, reporting to CEO John Dickie.
John Dickie, Chief Executive of London First, said:
“I am delighted to continue working with Muniya and Laura in their new roles, leading London First. Their passion, energy and drive will help us deliver our mission to make post-pandemic London the best place in the world to live, work, and play for the benefit of the whole UK”
Commenting on her appointment, Muniya Barua said:
“London First has, for many years, led the way in shaping the future of the capital – from spearheading the role of Mayor of London and driving the campaign for Crossrail. I look forward to working with members and allies across the country to drive forward our policy agenda to accelerate London and the UK’s recovery.”
Laura Osborne added:
“I am thrilled to join the London First leadership team at such a vital moment for the capital and its recovery. I look forward to working with our members to drive real change in the months and years ahead, bolstering our impact and influence in London and beyond.”
