Commenting on changing Government advice encouraging employees back to workplaces, CEO Jasmine Whitbread said:
“It’s encouraging that transport services are opening up, which will provide a boost to the hard-pressed hospitality and retail sectors.
“Yet for employers the confusion continues: the first priority for businesses is the health and wellbeing of staff but the conflicting advice between the Prime Minister today and the Chief Scientific Adviser yesterday on working from home will leave employers and the public concerned.
“Employers would like to be able to encourage those who want to return to the office to do so as soon as they are ready, with all the social and economic benefits that brings. However there must be strong coordination between businesses and government and clear, consistent communication from central and local government, alongside bus operators, public transport networks and suburban rail services before August 1st on what a managed return to public transport looks like.”
