Keeping London at the forefront of global business
working with and for the whole UK
New Prime Minister must be a positive force for business, says London First
23 July 2019
Congratulating Boris Johnson on his appointment as the new Prime Minister, Jasmine Whitbread, Chief Executive of London First, said:
“Having worked closely with Boris as Mayor of London, we have seen first-hand his ability to be a positive force for business. During this time, he backed critical infrastructure projects, such as Crossrail; championed an open and outward-looking London and recognised the critical importance of tackling the housing crisis.
“The top priority for business is ensuring the UK avoids a damaging no-deal exit from the EU.
“On the domestic front, the Prime Minister should send a clear signal that the UK is open to global talent by backing a fair and managed immigration system and throwing the Government’s weight behind major infrastructure projects to boost connectivity across the country.”
