Tight labour market means Government must create a fair and managed immigration system, says London First
13 August 2019
Commenting on the latest UK labour market statistics from the ONS, Mark Hilton, Executive Director, Employment and Skills, said:
“With a tight labour market and no deal looming large on the horizon, it is critical that the Government creates a fair and managed immigration system that helps to keep the economy at full strength.
“The Government must ensure that vital industries like construction, hospitality, digital and healthcare don’t face even greater skills and labour gaps. Lowering the skilled visa salary threshold to around £20,000 is a critical first step to avoiding a recruitment cliff edge.”
