Commenting on the Government’s publication of the findings from the Global Travel Taskforce, Adam Tyndall, Programme Director for Connectivity at London First, said:
“This non-announcement is a missed opportunity. The government should have unequivocally confirmed a safe and managed return to international travel from 17 May. The aviation industry is on its knees, and while full normality is some distance away, today’s report failed to provide some certainty for businesses and individuals to begin to make plans.
“A transparent, risk-based entry system based on a combination of vaccinations, testing and isolation, is vital for our economic recovery in the short and medium term. The government must work with the sector to safely reopen international travel – or risk further harm to the UK’s Global Britain prospects.”
