Keeping London at the forefront of global business

Business as a force for good
Business as a force for good
How London’s employers, educators and leaders are playing their part in responding to the Covid-19 crisis
We’ve been sharing asks with the Government and setting out what should come next. We have focused on three critical areas:
The Government has taken bold, decisive action, but it should act to stop people falling through the cracks
The Government should closely monitor the transition from the furlough scheme to the Winter Economy Plan and take additional targeted action to support sectors struggling to remain afloat
While public health and short-term measures are rightly front of mind, we need to plan ahead
The Government should demonstrate that it has the plans in place to get the economy back on its feet as soon as restrictions can be lifted
So much has been achieved but more could be done to make sure recovery is joined up
We’re part of the Mayor’s Recovery and the Government’s Transition board, directly contributing the views of London businesses: now is the time share lessons across UK cities and to learn from other global experiences

Because I’m a Londoner
Get involved in the collective effort to rebuild consumer confidence across London. If you run a London business, you can now promote it as part of the citywide marketing campaign Because I’m a Londoner. The campaign aims to inspire a recovery in consumer spending in the capital, by encouraging Londoners to rediscover their neighbourhoods and support local businesses. We invite all London businesses to join us and promote their business with #BecauseImALondoner.
We’ve been sharing our response to the crisis via a series of blogs:
