Evelyn is an Irish businesswoman and a Non-Executive Board member of Bank of Ireland plc. In December 2020, Marks and Spencer announced that Evelyn would join its Board in February 2021.
Her most recent executive role was as Group CEO at Bupa from July 2016 to December 2020, having previously served as CFO.
She has a strong track record in global executive management and extensive experience in financial services, risk and capital management, and mergers and acquisitions.
Evelyn joined Bupa as CFO in September 2012, from Friends Life where she was Chief Executive Officer of its Heritage division. Previously at Friends Provident, she was the Executive Director responsible for strategy, capital and risk and, before that, Chief Financial Officer.
Evelyn was one of the first two women in Ireland to qualify as actuaries. She began her career with New Ireland Assurance and Bank of Ireland. She holds an MBA from London Business School and was previously a Non-Executive Director of IFG Group, The Children’s Mutual and Opportunity Now. Evelyn is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Bank of Ireland Group plc and Chair of their Audit Committee and a member of their Nomination and Governance Committee.
