Breakfast Roundtable with the Climate Change Committee

At this round table businesses will have the opportunity to hear from Climate Change Committee representatives on the role and challenges of the Carbon Offsetting market towards the progress to Net Zero. The CCC published their Voluntary Carbon Markets and Offsetting Report in October 2022, which sets out the evidence on the risks and opportunities associated with carbon offsets. According to the report’s findings, the lack of guidance, standards, and regulations underpinning carbon offsetting risks slowing a transition to net zero. We will hear from the CCC on the report’s analysis and conclusions before a discussion where businesses will have the opportunity to share their feedback on the role that carbon offset plays in meeting their net zero targets, as well as outline their thoughts on the modifications needed to bring credibility.
