In response to reports that the deadline for several green targets will be pushed back by the Government, BusinessLDN’s Chief Executive John Dickie said:
“Pulling the handbrake on green targets will ultimately increase the costs of reaching net zero in the long run. This constant chopping and changing is damaging investor and business confidence in the UK’s ability to make the tough choices that are needed to reach net zero by 2050. The transition needs to be fair and affordable for all but creating uncertainty by slowing down in the face of a climate emergency should not be an option.”
