Executive Director, Employment and Skills
Mark Hilton joined London First in 2009, becoming Executive Director, Policy in 2014. Mark drives the organisation’s work on skills, immigration, employment and education, and account manages London First education members.
Mark leads London First’s priority Brexit work, working to ensure London business has access to talent by influencing immigration and skills policy, the latter through the high profile London Skills Commission. He has cultivated an extensive network across business, education, policy and government.
He is a member of the Greater London Authority’s Apprenticeship Advisory Group, which is a sub group of the Skills for Londoners Business Partnership. He is also a member of the London Apprenticeship Ambassadors Network run by the Department for Education
Prior to London First, he was a retail property consultant for eight years, developing asset management strategies for blue chip property companies, and spent four years in local government providing policy advice and training programmes to councillors as well as leading on neighbourhood planning activity.
Mark joined London First from the Association of Colleges where he ran the London region.
